Other publications of Frumkin school

This page (under construction) collects the articles of Frumkin’s collaborators published without his co-authorship. Even being incomplete, this list is long enough, and contains a lot of important original findings. We started from bibliographic lists of Karpov Institute published in Zhurnal Fizicheskoi Khimii on the occasion of the jubilees of the Institute: 15 years (1933. V. 4. P. 762-781) and 25 years (1943. V. 17. P. 424-445) and extracted only the items assigned to Frumkin’s division of surface phenomena (this is the reason for the absence of V.A. Pleskov’s articles, see a separate list). For pre-WWII period, bibliography from 1941 review of N.A. Bach about Frumkin School was also very helpful.

We started and shall continue to add later articles for the period preceding the foundation of Frumkin Institute (an exception is the evident continuity of earlier studies). A number of later publications affiliated with Frumkin Inst can be found at the personal pages of people from that Institute. For school members remaining in the Karpov Inst, we mostly limit the additions by mid 1940s, as later development of Karpov branch was more or less independent, and Bruns’ articles are only presented for his period in Karpov Inst.

Articles from Moscow Univ start from mid-1930s and stop at early 1960s, when Damaskin’s and Petrii’s research branches emerged (both developed in very close contact with Frumkin). Later articles from the University part of the school can be found in the lists of publications of Z.A. Iofa, B.B. Damaskin and O.A. Petrii. We also do not include publications of school members related to radiation chemistry, and purely technical brief communications.

Levich’s articles are not included in this list because they formed a more or less independent array (very rare co-authorship with experimental people, besides Frumkin).

If some biographic information about the authors of the articles listed below is presented at this web, the names are written in Bold, with corresponding links. There are also many co-authors from non-permanent staff, mostly students or interns. Some of them later left for other areas, or lived only short lives. If any information about them people is available, it is given in Italic at the first mention.
