We attach this collection to Kharkiv web page because of the longest tradition of solution studies in this place. The role of Kharkiv, as well as of Ukraine as a whole (Kiev, Odessa, Dnipro, Lviv), is surely outstanding. Certainly it cannot and should not be separated from Moscow (Kablukov’s) branch of solution research, also rooted in the pre-revolutionary period. In the very beginning of XX century, a strong and long-lived nonaqueous direction was pioneered by V.A. Plotnikov in Kiev, and affected many researchers, including M.I. Usanovich. In more recent history, Ivanovo with its specialized solution-oriented institute, and Samoilov’s school in Moscow are also important. There are also some other actors besides traditional schools.
