CITCE <predecessor of ISE>

International Committee of Electrochemical Thermodynamics and Kinetics <Comité International de Thermodynamique et de Cinétique Electrochimiques, CITCE> was started in 1949, and later transformed into International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) <use this link to read some articles on ISE history). This page presents some extracts from the Proceedings of the early CITCE meetings. The Contents and reports show how the range of topics gradually expanded (especially in respect to kinetics), and how the society grew from a group of enthusiasts to a large international community. CITCE paied special attention to systematization of electrochemical terms and notions, see corresponding extracts at the end of this page.
