Mikhail Isaakovich Temkin (1908-1991) was a truly unique personality. He cannot be straightforwardly assigned to Frumkin school, as he created his own school in the field of chemical kinetics and catalysis. He remained a trusted ally and friend of Frumkin and his school during all his life. The former Temkin’s lab in Karpov Inst still supports a less formal web site in Russian, where one can find photos of Temkin’s family, his photos of various periods, as well as group photos of the lab.

Our small collection of Temkin’s works includes mostly his articles being of joint interest for heterogeneous catalysis and electrochemistry. Some less known early articles are also included.

This is a conference talk, which explains, in particular, how the isotherm was first applied by Temkin to Frumkin-Shlygin results on hydrogen adsorption on the platinum electrode (translation of Frumkin and Slygin is available).
