The first list of the graduates staring from 1933 was collected by Prof. Elena V. Stenina. It was later extended by Drs Veronika K. Laurinavichyute, Ivan S. Filimonenkov, and Sergey Yu. Vassiliev. They constructed this web page (in Russian, allows a search and includes the former staff members and PhD students, it is still updated). The same and additional information is presented here in English for 1930s – 1970s period, when the graduates enlarged the ranks of Frumkin school. For early part of this period, two sourсe of additional information were important: Z.A. Iofa’s lists of his students and the orders from Moscow University archive, which document graduation directly. We do not include Dept graduates specialized in radiation chemistry (before official start of this specialization in 1950, some formally electrochemical graduates of 1940s already worked in this field).
We do not list later graduates of “after Frumkin” period here, excluding very few who became staff members of the Dept in 1980s. Next generations already found themselves in essentially different topical areas more related to material scence than to electrochemistry, this is a world-wide trend.
For the graduates who later worked at the Dept or in some of the Institutes belonging to the school, only the names are indicated, with the links to institutional web pages. For others, we tried to collect the available documented information (which is not always possible). Indication of students’ supervisors is less formal, does not obligatory correspond to the names at theses cover pages. Instead, it is determined by co-authorship in publications and traditional topical areas of various groups. In particular, we do not indicate co-supervision of many diploma and PhD theses by A.N. Frumkin: his participation can be easily seen just from his co-authorship, which was never formal.
